Alan S. Rauenzahn, 74, of Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2026.
Born in Peterborough, England, he was the son of Richard E. Rauenzahn and Doris (Watson) Rauenzahn. He was proud to become an American Citizen at the age of 18.
Al is survived by his wife, Sandra (Kramer) of 56 years, and son Michael Rauenzahn and his wife Shanna (Bare), and their children, Austin and Sophia, who meant the world to him.
Al attended Schuylkill High School and Berks Vo Tech. He competed in track and field. He was a welder by trade and a Diesel Mechanic at Wernersville Ford. He served as the Trustee for many years at Mt. Pleasant Fire Co. Al was a lifetime member of Womelsdorf Rod and Gun, Strausstown Rod and Gun, and Rehrersburg Fire Company serving as an Assistant Chief and Fireman in his younger days. He was once deemed a hero by Conrail for preventing a train derailment and saving lives.
His interests included farming the land that he lived on, riding his Harley, camping, hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, NASCAR, WWE wrestling, and a beer or two.
As per Al's request there will be no funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Th family would like to thank Tower Health Hospice Care who made Al comfortable during his illness. They were true angles, Kyrie, Colleen, and Sierra.
Kirkhoff Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
