Bernville

Alex Jay Seigfreid, affectionately known as Axel, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Bernville, Pennsylvania, at the vibrant age of 24. Born on March 25, 2002, in Lebanon, Axel lived a life brimming with energy, kindness, and unyielding spirit, leaving an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Alex was a wild child with a heart of gold, effortlessly balancing his outgoing nature and caring soul. His spirited personality made him a beloved friend to many, and his zest for life was evident in everything he did. Whether tearing up dirtbike trails or cruising on his sportbike, he found joy in the outdoors, where he also cherished hunting and fishing adventures. Yet, above all else, Alex’s greatest passion and pride were found in being a devoted dad to his son, Derek H. Zimmerman, for whom he would move mountains.

Professionally, Alex was dedicated to his work at Pioneer Homes, where he applied his strong work ethic with enthusiasm. For several years, he was also a compassionate caregiver to his father, embodying the deep care and devotion that defined much of his short but impactful life.

Alex leaves behind a broad and loving family circle who will carry his memory close to their hearts. His parents, Jay A. Seigfried, Jr. and Stacey S. (Raihl) Strunk, along with his son Derek. He is survived by his siblings Zachary Strunk, Shevelle Strunk, Jessica Strunk, Jay Seigfreid, Alexis Martinson, Tonie Martinson, Payne Seigfreid, and Kobalt Seigfreid. Further extending his family web are his aunts Jackie Curran, Cheryl Major, Patti Auman, and Debbie Howard, uncles Buddy Seigfreid, Jack Esterly, Michael Raihl, and Brian Raihl, and his paternal great-grandmother Doris Yeager. From his maternal side, he held close the memories and ties with great grandparents Theresa and Harvey Bradley, great-grandmother Joyce Raihl, and grandmother Rose George. Cousins Victor Rivera, Jon Rivera, Jamie Curran, along with numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, also cherish his memory.

Alex was predeceased by his brother Jeffrey Strunk, paternal grandmother Irene Seigfreid, maternal grandfathers Glenn George, Randolph Raihl, and Phillip Raihl, and maternal great-grandfather Raymond Bechtel. Their presence in his life and memory has shaped the man Axel joyfully became.
