Amy L. (Moyer) Folk, 93, of Fleetwood, passed away Sunday, August 3rd in Keystone Villa in Fleetwood.
She was the widow of Lee A Folk who passed away September 15, 1994.
Born in Molltown on January 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. Moyer and Laura E. (Dries) Bailey.
She was a lifelong member of Becker’s St. Peters Lutheran Church, Richmond Twp. She was a former Sunday school teacher, pianist, church choir member, and substitute organist. At the age of 8 Amy was a pianist for her church Sunday school class. Amy also would waitress at her church strawberry festival and was also a church council member.
She loved baking, gospel music, and traveling with her late husband Lee, and helping to care for her late son’s foster children. She loved to go bicycling till her early 60’s.
Amy enjoyed gardening at home and helped maintain the Memory Garden at her church.
She was a graduate of Kutztown High School class of 1949 and was employed by the former Fleetwood Shirt Corp. for forty-three years as a presser, retiring in 1996. During her employment at Fleetwood Shirt Corp., she walked to work daily.
Amy is survived by her three foster grandsons, Frank K. Carranza, Jeremy D. McGay, and James M. Ardle.
There are several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Amy is predeceased by her loving son, Dana L. Folk who passed away on July 11, 2000.
She also is predeceased by brothers, Allen H. Moyer and Raymond W. Moyer. Also, her sisters, Mae A. Holub, Mary J. Hart, Ruth K. Buch, and her step-father, Wilson S. Bailey.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 12th, from 10 until 11 AM at Becker’s St. Peters Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522, with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM.
Deacon Linda Zawaski will officiate the funeral service.
Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
After the burial, everyone is invited to celebrate the good life Amy led with a luncheon, as she would have wanted us to do.
