Annette F. Homan, née Rohrbach, passed away on October 10, 2026, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph. She was born on December 18, 1937, and lived a long life marked by devotion to her family, steady work, and simple joys that brought her happiness.
A 1955 graduate of Reading High School, Annette went on to build a dedicated working life. She was employed by Bachman Co. in the packing department for 24 years before retiring in 1999. Her years there reflected the reliability and commitment that were part of who she was.
Annette also enjoyed the comforts and pleasures of everyday life. She was a member of the Central Fire Company and loved playing the punch boards. She found quiet enjoyment in doing diamond art, watching birds, and admiring the beauty of flowers. These gentle interests spoke to a woman who appreciated both community and the peaceful moments of life.
Family was at the center of Annette’s life. She is survived by her children, Steven Zielinski, Anthony Zielinski and his wife, Kim, Donna Thomas, Linda Butzer and her longtime companion, Ryan Lorah, and Kathy James and her husband, William. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Yvonne Costa and Cherylann Adams, and by her sister, Judith McCoy.
Annette’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Urieta, Trevor Royer, Kristen Gehringer, Jason Royer, Brandon Royer, Soren James, Tonya McQue, McKayla Diezel, Aleiah Butzer, Taylor Hoffman, and Matthew Thomas and 17 great grandchildren. Each of them was part of the family she cherished so deeply, and her memory will remain with them always.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Homan, who died in 2016; by her parents, Albert and Emma A. (Barnett) Rohrbach; and her brother, Robert Rohrbach.
Annette will be remembered with love for her hardworking spirit, her quiet pleasures, and the enduring care she gave to those around her. Her life leaves behind many treasured memories, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
