Arlene S. Moser

January 12, 1919 — March 7, 2024

Arlene S. Moser, 105, of Myerstown, formerly of Mohrsville, passed away Thursday, March 7th in her residence at StoneRidge Poplar Run after a short illness. She was a friend to many, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. While we mourn her loss, we are grateful for the ways she enriched our lives. Peace is ours; since we know she is enjoying heavenly rest.

Arlene was the widow of Samuel H. Moser, who predeceased her on January 11, 2007. Arlene and Samuel were married on November 1, 1941 and celebrated sixty-five years of married life.

Born in Bern Township, Berks County, on January 12, 1919. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Dorothy (Snyder) Herbine.

Arlene was a 1935 graduate of Ontelaunee Vocational School and a 1936 graduate of the Helen Moore Hoffman Secretarial School.

After graduation, she was employed for New York Life Insurance Company.  Later she was employed for the Reading Company and Conrail, retiring January 13, 1981.

Arlene was a member of St. John’s (Gernant’s) Church, Leesport, PA. She was a member of the Leesport Women’s Club, Leesport Senior Citizens, the Berks County Matchcover Club, and Rathkamp Matchcover Society.

Arlene is survived by a son, Glenn A. Moser, a retired research chemist, (Mary Ellen) of Myerstown, PA.

Other survivors include two step grandchildren, Jeanmarie  Braddock (Chris) and James “Jamey”  Kolka (Alena). Also, two step great grandchildren, (Elizabeth “Ellie”,  Benjamin).

Arlene was predeceased (1998) by a sister, Mildred E. Hinkle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 11 AM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Rev. Dana Logan Chaplin at StoneRidge Poplar Run and Rev. Fran Merkel Pastor at St. John’s (Gernant’s) Church.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until 11 AM in the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Leesport Cemetery.
