Bonnie J. Rentschler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on December 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 27, 1946, to Adam J. and Mamie (Binner) Lando. Bonnie was a proud graduate of Hamburg High School, Class of 1964, and brought unwavering dedication and compassion to her career. She served the Bernville Bank for 11 years before spending 12 years in the accounts payable department at the Caron Treatment Center, where her contributions were felt by many.
Bonnie possessed a warm, caring spirit and had an undeniable love for her family. As a doting wife to her husband Larry L. Rentschler for 59 wonderful years, she was his steadfast support in both his personal and professional life. Their bond was a testament to love and devotion, a true partnership that blossomed through the years.
She cherished spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren—Gabrielle, Audrey, Austin, Julia, Natalie, and Autumn—whom she adored. Bonnie loved nothing more than hosting family dinners, where her famous chocolate cake with peanut butter icing was always the highlight. Her enthusiasm and presence at her grandchildren's events and sporting matches filled their lives with joy and encouragement, ensuring they knew how precious they were to her.
Bonnie leaves behind her loving husband, Larry; her daughter, April L. Jonas, wife of Joshua; daughters-in-law Louise Merritt and Stacey Rentschler; her cherished grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Miles, and August. She will be fondly remembered by her brother and sister, Arlan Lando and Beverly Shollenberger.
While Bonnie has been reunited with her beloved children—Christopher Rentschler, infant son Larry Rentschler, Jr., and Daniel Rentschler—as well as her siblings Adam C. Lando Jr., Dolores Huntsinger, Peggy Balthaser and William Lando. Bonnie's kindness, laughter, and love will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered as the extraordinary woman she was.
Memorial services for Bonnie Rentschler and Christopher Rentschler will take place on January 10, 2026 at St. Thomas Church in Bernville, PA. Visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bonnie and Christopher’s name may be made to St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main Street, Bernville, PA 19560.
