It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Carmiña Luisa Albright, 91, Shoemakersville, Pa. Carmiña passed into rest peacefully with her son Kevin by her side, on August 19, 2026. Carmiña was born in Zaragoza, Spain in 1935 and moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico at 8 years old. She graduated from high school in San Juan in 1954 and then went on to attend Academia Catolica where she obtained her degree in Commercial Studies in 1957. It was during this time where she met her husband Richard, who was serving in the US Army and stationed in Puerto Rico. They married and honeymooned in the Virgin Islands. Carmiña began her career at Boscov’s in 1973 where she remained for 42 years until her retirement in 2015.
Carmiña was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Albright (1972), her father Marcelo Abadia, and her mother Maria Santana Abadia. Carmiña is survived by her sons Kevin Albright (New Ringold, Pa.), Dwayne Albright and wife Sarah Albright (Scranton, Pa), and her granddaughter, Arianna Vogel (Los Angeles, Cal); her brother, Louis Abadia and wife Conchita (Zaragoza, Spain); her sister, Annie Lang and deceased husband Edward (Jacksonville, Fla.) who have two children Malizza and Edward; her deceased sister Marian (Newark, NJ); and deceased brother Papo (Santurce, Puerto Rico).
She is additionally survived by her brother-in-law The Rev. Emeritus Jonathan Albright and Nancy Albright who is deceased (Sunbury, Pa.) who have three sons: David, Mark, and Timothy; and sister-in-law Patricia and husband Anthony of Telford, Pa. (both deceased) who have three children Lenny, Tana, Tony.
Carmiña maintained longstanding friendships with Roxanne Swoyer, Diane Fenstermacher and Jodi Sterner-Findling, who brought her great joy and connection. She was a proud and active member of the Greater Berks County Newcomer’s Club, serving as Vice President in 1964–1965, helping to provide guidance to immigrants moving to Berks County.
Carmiña adored her cats and loved tending to her flowers.
Family and friends are invited to honor Carmiña Luisa Albright’s life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. John's Gernant's Church Cemetery, 12 Gernant's Church Road, Leesport, PA 19533. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly would accept donations in memory of Carmiña Albright at the Oyate Hope Academy, PO. Box 349 Oglala, SD. -57764-
