Carol L. Ashworth

February 14, 1937 — January 25, 2018

Carol L. Ashworth, 80, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Thursday afternoon, surrounded by her loving family, in the residence of her daughter, Robin Kistler, in Reading.

Carol is the wife Robert W. Ashworth.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late John P. Horine and Kathryn (Parker) Clark.

Carol was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School.

Carol was formerly employed as an Insurance Agent by Snyder's Insurance and also American Insurance Management Inc. in Wyomissing, where she retired.

Carol was formerly president of the Insurance Women of Reading.

Carol was a member of Grace Alsace United Church of Christ in Reading.

Carol operated a business, Creations by Carol, which was established by many craft hobbies which included, painting, quilling, pressed flower arrangements, and cross stitching.

Carol volunteered as a craft instructor at B'nai B'rith Apartments in Reading.

Additional survivors include Carol's children, Robin Kistler and partner Tina Trate of Reading and Jeffrey Kistler, Sr. and wife Beth of Exeter Twp.

There are three grandchildren, Jeffrey Kistler, Jr. and twin granddaughters, Megan and Lindsey Kistler.

Carol has two brothers, Rev. Paul Clark and wife Susan of Reading and Rev. Michael Clark and wife Rev. Christine Elliott of Watertown MA.

Carol is predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Kistler who passed away in 1972.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 11 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.

Carol's brother, Rev. Michael Clark will officiate the service.

Family and friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Alsace Cemetery.
