Charles “Chuck” Nutter, Jr., 72, of North Heidelberg Township went home to be in the loving arms of our glorious Lord and Savior on January 3, 2021 at the Reading Hospital.
Born on March 31, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Naomi (Conley) Nutter and stepson of the late Thomas Anspach.
Chuck was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Conrad Weiser High School. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Marines Corps. having served during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Bernville Manufacturing for ten years and later for CarTech for twenty-nine years, retiring in 2007.
He actively volunteered in the fire service, starting in 1972 and served as the Fire Chief of Bernville Volunteer Fire Company for 15 years. He was also an active member of Christ Little Tulpehocken Church in Bernville, serving as a board member. Above all, Chuck loved spending time with his Grandchildren.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Sara E. (Oxenreider) Nutter and their children Glenn A., companion of Cindy A. Moser, Sheila J. wife of Russell L. Rhoads and Jeremy C. husband of Lauren A. Nutter; Grandchildren, Cody, Hunter, Evan, Keith and Dominic and great granddaughter, Cami. Brothers and sister; John T. Anspach, James C. Anspach, Luke A. Anspach and Sharon L. DeLong.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Christ Little Tulpehocken Church, 40 Church Road, Bernville, PA 19506 at 11:00 am with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. An evening visitation will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville, PA 19506 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
