Cheryl L Dennis

Cheryl L. Dennis, 76, passed away on September 8, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill Campus, surrounded by love.

Cheryl was never meant to be described with ordinary words. She was sassy, funny, stubborn, spirited, and unapologetically herself. She loved margaritas, tattoos, rock music, the Dallas Cowboys, her dogs—especially her beloved pit bulls—and, of course, her coffee. There was rarely a time when Cheryl didn’t have a cup of coffee nearby. She had her own style, her own opinions, and a personality that could fill a room. If you knew Cheryl, chances are you have a story about her.

But beneath all of that sass was a woman whose life was deeply rooted in her family.

Cheryl was a homemaker while raising her children, and being a mother and grandmother became the greatest and longest chapter of her life. After her children were grown, she went on to work for many years in Accounts Receivable at Sweet Street, building a life for herself outside of motherhood while remaining at the center of a large and ever-growing family.

Her family was her proudest accomplishment. Through four children came grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sweet great great grandson, and generations of people who carry a piece of her with them. Life wasn’t always perfect, and neither was Cheryl—something she probably would have rolled her eyes at anyone pretending otherwise. But the love was real, and it remained.

One phrase captured that love better than anything else. Cheryl told the people she loved, “I love you to infinity and beyond.”

Those words mean something different now.

Her voice, her laugh, her sass, her stories, and all of the silly moments and hard times that made up a lifetime will continue to live in the people who knew her. Cheryl leaves behind more than names on a family tree. She leaves memories, stories that will be told again and again, and an unmistakable piece of herself woven through the generations that came after her.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Jack Dennis; her children, Michelle and her wife, Wendy, Ish-Shah and her husband, Dan, Rueben and his wife, Mari, and Carissa.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brianna and her husband Travis; Ryan and his companion, Tashia. Austin, Logan, Cameron, Shantel, Devon, Jordan, Josiah, Noah, Miranda and her fiancée , Josh, Lake his fiancée, Kat.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Kyla, Kaiden, Keiryn, Willow, Ember, Sora “Bug Bug” and Beckham.

Cheryl is also survived by her siblings, Carol Ulrich and her husband, Gary; Cathy Stricker and her husband, Char; Michael Lenhart and his wife, April; and Lori Daubenspeck and her husband, Howie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Saylor II; her mother, June (Klopp) Lenhart; her stepfather, Stuart Lenhart; and her great-granddaughter, Kinleigh Jo Faith Umbenhauer.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made directly to the funeral home to help with Cheryl’s final expenses.

And because Cheryl would probably have had something to say about everyone getting dressed up and somber on her account, please come casually. Wear blue or Dallas Cowboys gear if you have it.

Most importantly, come with a story. Come ready to remember something Cheryl said, something ridiculous she did, a time she made you laugh, or a moment you’ll never forget. Because a woman with a personality like Cheryl’s shouldn’t be remembered only with tears.

She should be remembered with stories, laughter, music, and love.
