Christian E. Sherman

October 17, 1926 — January 1, 2018

Christian E. Sherman, 91, of the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, formerly of Laureldale and Coatesville, passed away Monday, January 1st in Lancaster General Hospital.

He was married to the late Joanna S. (Bubp) Sherman who passed away October 28, 2013.

Born in Muhlenberg Twp., he was the son of the late William T. and Mae (Trivits) Sherman.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

Christian served in the U. S. Navy and Marines during WW II and Korea.

He was formerly a pilot for Lukens Steel Co. in Coatesville for many years and a mechanic for Reading Aviation Service.

He drove for George Koerner at the Reading Fairgrounds and other dirt tracks throughout the area.

He assisted with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the VFW of Gap, PA.

Christian was a member of Lodge #62 F & AM of West Reading, Consistory, Valley of Reading, and Rajah Temple Shrine.

Surviving are two children, Patricia Ann Sherman of El Paso, TX and Jerry Neil Sherman and wife Donna of Mountville, Lancaster County.

He is predeceased by a brother, William T, Sherman.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 6th at 11 am in Sell Chapel, Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, One Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, One Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 and please make a notation in the name of Christian Sherman with the memorial.

The Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
