Christopher M. Brown

Christopher M. Brown, 38, of Fleetwood, Pa died Thursday, August 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Chris was the loving husband of Christie L. (Barrell) Brown; just recently married on June 11th this summer, though they spent nine years together as a family. He was the son of Michael R. and Julie (Aulenbach) Brown of Muhlenberg Twp. and a graduate of Muhlenberg High school, class of 1997.
Chris received an associate's degree from BTI in 1999 then furthered his education at Alvernia University where he proudly played on the Crusader's ice hockey team and obtained his bachelor's degree in sports management in 2007. He worked in sales for Service Caster Corporation of West Reading for seven years and was most recently employed as the Customer Service Administrator at Penske Truck Leasing.

Chris continued to pursue his love for hockey playing in the over-35 league at Body Zone and participating in local youth and adult leagues as a referee. Chris was an avid Boston Bruins fan. He also had a heart for supporting the juvenile diabetes fund and participated in fundraisers. Chris was a hero to his children, his wife's best friend, a loving son, and a caring spirit to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Chris is survived by his daughter, Savannah Brown; his son, Aaron Brown and his step-daughter, Kayla Himmelreich.

He is also survived by his grandmother, Nancy C. Aulenbach; Aunt Patricia A. Moyer, Uncle Ronald C. Moyer, Uncle Mark E. Aulenbach and wife Melinda; cousin Michael T. Moyer and wife Candace; second-cousin, Alyssa; mother-in-law Debra (Kintz) Barrell; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Barrell) Kunkle and her husband, Cory, and Tricia Barrell and her husband, Stephen Kobryn; six nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Scott Heffner; and grandmother-in-law, Janice Kintz.

Chris is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert G. and Jennie M. Brown; maternal grandfather, Albert R. Aulenbach; cousin, Cody Moyer; father-in-law, Steven Barrell; and sister- in-law, Amanda Barrell.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in St. Paul's UCC, 5 W Arch St., Fleetwood, Pa 19522, officiated by Reverend Patrick W. Morris. Chris' family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be private in Good Shepard Cemetery, Laureldale, Pa.
