Cody C. Moyer, 20 of Laureldale died June 1, 2013 while fishing on the Susquehanna river near Peach Bottom.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of Michael T. and Candace M. (Brossman) Moyer at home.
He was a 2011 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School and was preparing to enlist in the US Navy.
Cody lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He loved trips to Canada with his grandpop and enjoyed fishing with his "bros." His favorite quote was, "Nobody asks to be a hero; it just sometimes turns out that way."
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 1 sister, Alyssa M. Moyer at home and his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Moyer of Muhlenberg Township, his maternal grandparents, Dale and Jeannette Brossman of Windsor Township and his maternal great grandfather, Clarke Brossman of Wernersville.
Also surviving are his aunt Teri wife of Brian Fisher of Muhlenberg Township, his uncle Clarke husband of Shannon Brossman of Windsor Township and his great uncle Michael husband of Julie Brown of Muhlenberg Township as well as several cousins and his extended family of friends and "bros."
A joint memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in Calvary Lutheran Church 1109 Elizabeth Avenue Laureldale with the Rev. Jerry Kulp officiating. The family requests casual attire. Inurnment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time in the church. As Cody was an expectant father, memorial contributions may be made to Mr. Michael T. Moyer 3207 Oak Street Laureldale, PA 19605 for the benefit of Cody's future child.
