Curtis C. Lesher

Curtis C. Lesher 90 of Strausstown died Saturday morning in the Stone Ridge Retirement Living, Myerstown where he had been a guest for the past four months. Curtis was the widower of Elva J. (Faust) Lesher who died February 9, 2006.

Mr. Lesher was born in Upper Tulpehocken Township on April 12, 1923. He was the son of the late Isaac S. and Mabel (Gassert) Lesher.

Mr. Lesher was the father of Rita J. wife of Barry L. Bentz of Strausstown, and Allen C. husband of Deborah Lesher of Hamburg. He was the grandfather of Christie Kolar-Smith, Jeremy Bentz, and Justin Bentz. Curtis was the great grandfather of Alex, Owen, Lily, Maile Bentz.

Mr. Lesher has a brother, Ray Lesher of Strausstown; and a sister, Grace Britt of Harrisburg.

Curtis was a member of Zion (Blue Mountain) United Church of Christ, Strausstown. He was, also, a member of the Strausstown Fire Company.

Mr. Lesher served his country during peacetime in the United States Army.

He retired in 1985 from Post Precision Casting of Strausstown having worked there seven years. Prior to that Curtis was a plasterer for thirty-five years having worked for Warren Henne Plastering and Lester Spatz Plastering.

Funeral services from Zion (Blue Mountain) United Church of Christ, Strausstown of Friday at 11:00 A.M. with his pastor the Reverend Stephen E. Ericson officiating. Interment in Strausstown Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Friday 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services.
