D. Louise Porto

Dorothy Louise Porto, known as Louise by her friends, 91, of Bernville, PA passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Rittenhouse Village Senior Living at Muhlenberg where she was lovingly cared for by the nurses of Caring Hospice.

Born January 2, 1926, she was the youngest daughter of the late Ezra Cleveland and Mary Etta (Henderson) Gardner. Married for 58 years she was the widow of Louis R. Porto who passed in 2002.

Louise raised her three children on a farm with her husband in Bernville. Caring for her family and home was Louise's priority. She was a resilient lady who worked hard on the farm yet lovingly tended to her children's needs. Louise attended the St. John Host Church in Bernville for over 60 years. Together with her husband, they raised their family built on faith.

Louise is survived by three children, Sheilagh Marlene Nowacki and her husband Dean of Indiana, John Ezra Porto, and his wife Faith Young of Bernville; and Mary Louise Sparr and her husband Barry of Bernville.

She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Lisa (Nowacki) Douglas, Joel Nowacki, Melissa (Sparr) Heckman, Brandon Sparr, Courtney (Sparr) Hilliard, Jared Sparr, Jesse (Sparr) Dascalescu, Brittany (Sparr) Wenrich, Amy (Weiss) Zazo, Peter Weiss; and 19 great grandchildren, Julia, Allison, Jack, Ellie, Kole, Avery, Ezra, Amara, Moyra, Joselin, Nadia, Elouise, Sarai, Veda, Anya, Evelyn, Korben, Ethan and Lucas; all of whom she loved to the moon and back.

Louise is predeceased by five brothers and one sister; who all lived in Greenville, SC.

Services are respectfully private and to be held at the convenience of the family.

Louise's final resting place will be at her home church cemetery, St. John Host Church Cemetery in Bernville.
