Darlene S. Becker, a cherished resident of Laureldale, PA, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born on December 29, 1933, in Windsor Castle Township, where she spent her early years before establishing a life filled with love and dedication to her family and community.
Darlene devoted many years of her career to the Muhlenberg School District, working in the cafeteria. Her warm smile and caring spirit resonated with countless children, making each lunch period a moment of joy for them. She will be remembered not only for her work but also for the impact she had on the lives of those young hearts.
Family was at the core of Darlene's life. She cherished the time spent with her beloved husband, the late Harry I. Becker, Darlene also enjoyed the blessing of being a grandmother to two grandchildren and a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren.
Beyond her family, Darlene found great joy and fulfillment in her church community. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, providing comfort and strength throughout her years. She had a true passion for the simple pleasures—focused on creating lasting memories with loved ones, participating in church activities, and cherishing the bonds of friendship.
Darlene is predeceased by her husband, Harry I. Becker; her son, Glenn C. Becker; and her parents, Oscar S. and Ida (Adam) Herber. She leaves behind her son, Paul H. Becker, as well as her two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her loving spirit.
The family will be honoring Darlene's life with a viewing on February 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 170 Tuckerton Road, Reading, PA 19605. A funeral service will follow, commencing at 11:00 AM, Burial will take place immediately following her service in the Good Shepherd Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Darlene’s name to Good Shepherd United Church of Christ.
