Darlene E. "Mom" Yost, 77, loving mother and grandmother, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., passed away Tuesday, November 8th in her residence.
Darlene was married to the late James R. "Pop" Yost, Sr. who passed away August 23, 2012.
Born in Wanamakers, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Greenawalt, Sr. and Dorothy (Schmoyer) Greenawalt.
Darlene graduated from Kutztown High School in 1957.
Darlene was a Teachers Aid at Strausstown Elementary School for twenty seven years. She was loved by the students and constantly had fun joking with them. She was very artistic and was well known for her creative and colorful bulletin boards throughout the school.
She was a loyal wife and very busy mother.
Surviving are two children, Tamera A. Yost and partner Karen Kelly of Kennett Square and James R. Yost, Jr. of Upper Tulpehocken Twp.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Natalie Kelly, Mia Yost Kelly, Sophia and Tessa Kelly, and Jamie, Jayden, and Hunter Yost. There are two step grandchildren, Travis Wink and Briel Simms.
There is a brother, James Greenawalt, Jr. and wife Barbara of Houston TX.
She is predeceased by a brother, Larry Greenawalt and a son, Morris Yost who passed away in 1960.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11 AM in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. Robert Argot officiating.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Epler's Church Cemetery.
