David A. Mattiuz

May 24, 1951 — February 10, 2016

David A. Mattiuz, 64, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Reading Hospital of natural causes.

David was married to Robin (Craig) Mattiuz. David and Robin would celebrate forty years of marriage in July.

Born in Allentown, he is the son of Lois (Seng) Mattiuz of Reading and the late Anthony Mattiuz.

David graduated from Reading High School in 1969.

David served in the Army from January 29, 1971 until January 22, 1973 during the Vietnam War.

David was employed by the former Western Electric Company, then Agere, for thirty three years. He then was employed by Lowes for several years.

David was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also was a avid New York Yankees fan.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and especially attending bike week in Ocean City MD.

He enjoyed woodworking and camping and traveling with his wife and children.
David's family was very important and he loved them dearly. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving with his wife, Robin, are two children, Jenna Hopkins and husband Scott of Jonestown and Christopher Mattiuz and wife Laura of Douglassville.

There are three grandchildren, Ryleigh and Makenzie Hopkins and Autumn Mattiuz.

There are three siblings, Gary Mattiuz and wife Sherry and Kathy Marmontello and husband Joe both of Reading and Tony Mattiuz and wife Betty of Harrisburg.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15th at 10:30 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Rev. Grant Wickert officiating.

A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 am until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
