Dena M. Boyer

December 13, 1959 — March 1, 2024

Dena M. (DeSantis) Boyer, 64, passed away Friday, March 1ST in Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg.

She was the widow of Dean Boyer who passed away in 2004.

Born in Reading on December 13, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ann (Colras) DeSantis.

She graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1978 and earned a license in Practical Nursing.

She was employed by Berks Heim as a nurse for a few years and then became a full-time mom.

In later years, she was employed in local grocery store delis and eventually a security guard for a security agency, last working in 2015.

She was a big hearted and free-spirited person who loved rock and roll.

She enjoyed jig saw puzzles and coloring.

Her soft spot was rescuing stray cats and people.

Her family will miss her unfiltered commentary and opinions.

We will live with the sadness of knowing her life was cut short by addiction, robbing her of good judgement, and finally her body.

Dena leaves behind her daughter, Hayley M. Boyer and boyfriend Jake Crawford of Dormont, PA and her granddaughter, Arianna Torres.

Her sister, Brenda L. Reedy and husband John G. Reedy of Temple.

Also, she is survived by her best friend Kim Shade, her Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Steve Sharp, and her Aunt Denise DeSantis, widow of John DeSantis.

There are several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 11 AM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.

Family and friends may attend a visitation on Saturday morning in the funeral home from 10 AM until 11 AM.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any agency that helps homeless cats like One-by-One Cat Rescue, Alley Cat Allies, or any other reputable agency.
