Dolores L Dorney

Dolores L. Dorney, 92, born on February 14, 1932, in Allentown, passed away on September 24,2024.

A 1950 graduate of Emmaus High School, Dolores worked as a secretary for Yeager Supply until her retirement.  She was regarded as one of the strongest and toughest individuals until the very end. She was a proud member of the Blandon Lioness and actively participated in Blandon Seniors for many years. Additionally, Dolores was a member of Maidencreek Church.

Dolores leaves behind her children, Kimberly A. Dorney, wife of Jerry Weidner, and Retired Army Lt. Col. Olen Dorney, husband of Deborah. She was the grandmother of five grandchildren and a sister to Jane Ann Spohn and James Sassaman. Dolores also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her devoted husband, Herbert Dorney, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. She was also preceded by her parents, Ralph Sassaman, Sr. and Mary (White) Sassaman, along with her brother, Ralph Sassaman, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association, 835 E Bellevue Ave, Laureldale, PA 19605, or Muhlenberg Township Fire Company, 4963 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560. 

Funeral service will be held privately.
