Donald E. "Pef" "Peffer" Becker, 88, of Blandon, passed away Saturday morning, November 25th in his residence.
He was married to the late Jean I. (Gift) Becker who passed away August 28, 2015.
Born in Blandon, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Emily (Reinert) Becker.
He was employed for over forty years for the former Empire Steel Castings, retiring in 1994.
Until 1974 he was a trash man for the Blandon area, also, he would haul coal, sand, and stone to people throughout Berks County, and he worked part time for Excelsior Brass in Blandon.
He was a member of the Blandon Fire Co. and Pikeville Sportsman Assoc.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and clamming in Delaware.
He maintained a huge garden and loved his animals.
Surviving is a son, Donald G, Becker and wife Theresa of Blandon.
He has several grandchildren, Lyn Becker, Donald G. Becker, Jr., Jenny Lyn Bagwell and husband Steve and William R. Becker, Jr. and wife Jen.
There are his great grandchildren, Marc and Torry Rees, Devon, Mikey and Joshua Bagwell, Dominic and Isabella Becker, and Miya Smalley.
Also, his great great grandchildren, Paxton and Sebastian Bagwell and Beau and Joseph Smalley.
There is a sister in law, Marie Bowers, nieces, Artena, Marcy, and Tonya, and nephews, Wes and Lynwood.
He is predeceased by a son, William R. Becker and a brother, Paul W. Becker.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 10:30 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd. Temple with Reverend Grant Wickert officiating.
A viewing will take place on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm and Thursday morning from 9:30 am until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service in St. John's Gernant's Church Cemetery in Leesport.
