Doris S. Jaxheimer

June 16, 1924 — November 30, 2017

Doris S. Jaxheimer, 93 a resident of The Highlands Skilled Nursing, Wyomissing died Thursday morning.
Mrs. Jaxheimer was the widow of Reverend Dr. Samuel C. Jaxheimer former pastor of St Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, who died January 20, 2000.

Born in West Hazelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Wilhelmina (Splett) Swinesburg

Surviving is a daughter, Stephanie J. wife of Joseph D. Giles of Lower Heidelberg Township, and a son, Dr. Eric C. husband of Martha K. Jaxheimer of Wyomissing.

Five grandchildren; Dr. Stephen H. Cleaver husband of Tara Naylor; Jennifer L. Cleaver; Julianne E. Cleaver; Katie Jaxheimer Agarwal wife of Harsh Agarwal; Amy Jaxheimer Hager wife of Timothy Hager, and Sarah Bideau wife of Mathew Bideau.

Two great grandchildren; Aiden L. and Maeve E. Cleaver

Also, surviving is a sister, Beverly widow of Reverend H. Peter Unks of Phillipsburg, NJ

She was predeceased by William Swinesburg, Howard Swinesburg, and Arlene Andrews.

Mrs. Jaxheimer was a graduate of West Hazelton High School graduating in the class of 1942.
She, also, graduated in 1962 from Kutztown University (formerly Kutztown State College) with a bachelor of arts in education. In 1970, she graduated with a master's degree in education from Kutztown University.

Mrs. Jaxheimer was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing, and a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading

Mrs. Jaxheimer was a kindergarten teacher at 10th & Green Elementary School, Reading for twenty-four years.

She was a member of American Association of University Women, Wyomissing Auxiliary of the Reading Hospital, Berks County Historical Society, and the Reading Symphony Orchestra League.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jaxheimer will be held on Monday, December 4th at 11:00 A.M. from Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing with Reverend Ryan Hersch officating.

Interment is in Charles Evans Cemetery

The family will receive family and friends at Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing on Monday 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
