Dorothy (Cronan) Matz, 98, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Saturday, January 30th in Berks Heim surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff at Berks Heim
She was married for fifty seven years to William H. Matz who passed away in 1997.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Vincent D. Cronan and Margaret (Brogley) Cronan.
She is a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church.
She worked at D. S. W. Hosiery in the in the store and for Dr. Patrick Mazza.
She was a member of the Northmont Beneficial Club Ladies Auxiliary where she was a former treasurer and secretary.
She was a member of the Temple Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
Dorothy and Bill enjoyed dancing and being with their family and friends.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane, wife of Barry McNeill of Muhlenberg Twp.
There are two grandchildren, Christopher McNeill and significant other Barb Rahn of Muhlenberg Twp. and Jodi, wife of Joseph Miller of West Chester.
There are six great grandchildren who Dorothy loved spending time with; Courtney Goodman, Jeffrey McNeill, and Michael, Madison, Ava, and Emily Miller.
She is survived by a sister Catherine, wife of George Krick of Mt. Penn., and two sister in laws, Joan Cronan, widow of Charles Cronan formerly of Pennside and Jeanne Cronan, widow of Richard Cronan of Shillington.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Vincent, Charles, and Richard and four sisters, Clare, Anna, Marguerite, and Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 am in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale, PA 19605 with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Hartgen celebrant.
Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9 until 10 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Guardian Angels RCC, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA, 19605.
