Edgar F. Holland, Jr., 85, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2024, in his residence.
Edgar was married to the love of his life for 56 years, Barbara A. (Clauser) Holland, who passed away February 7, 2019. He was predeceased by his parents Edgar F. Holland, Sr. and Anna (Grim) Holland, and Jessie (Faust) Weinberg and Irving Weinberg.
He was born in Reading, PA, and graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1959. Edgar, along with his wife, started Ed Holland Trash Removal in 1972. Their commitment to hard work and customer service lasted for 46 years until they retired. He was a member of the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society and was known for driving the yellow #88 and was a United States Marine Corp. veteran. Edgar loved being surrounded by his family. Whether it was taking vacations to Disney World, spending time at his home in Delaware, or snowmobiling in Wyoming, his best memories were those surrounded by those he loved. He enjoyed frequent trips to the casinos, playing the numbers, and scratching off his lottery tickets. He was a fan of NASCAR, WWF, and the Miami Dolphins. He loved good food and had a weakness for sweets. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Edgar is survived by his children: Michele “Shelly” Holland-Kramer, wife of Jack; Edgar F. Holland, husband of Debra; Joanne Graeff; and David Holland, husband of Alana. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Dustin Peters, Danielle Craig, Rochelle Campbell, Tony Piano, Heather Holland, Taryn Buono, Edgar Holland, Noah Holland, Kara Graeff, and Leah Holland and his great-grandchildren: Rebecca Peters, Shawn Peters, Hayden Molnar, Adyson Molnar, Harper Piano, Rosalie Molnar, Luca Buono, and Willow Campbell. He is also survived by his siblings: Edward Holland, Tom Holland, Marcia Guinther, and Gina Levan, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Edgar is predeceased by a grandson, Shawn Peters. A special thank you to Hawkins Home Care and his dedicated full-time caregiver, Lauree.
A viewing will be held on September 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple. Burial will take place at Berks County Memorial Gardens in Fleetwood.
