Edmund L. Yost, 78, of Upper Bern Township passed away Saturday in the Laurel Center in Hamburg.
Edmund was married to Viola A. (Smith) Yost. Edmund and Viola were married for sixty years.
Born in Upper Tulpehocken Township, he was the son of the late Lloyd A. and Ruth A. (Noll) Yost.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville.
He owned and operated his family dairy farm for sixty five years in Upper Tulpehocken Twp.
Edmund was a board member of DHIA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool.
He was a director of the Strausstown Rod and Gun Club.
He was a member of the Shartlesville and Mt. Pleasant Fire Co. and the Northkill Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving along with his loving wife Viola are two daughters, Vicki L.. (Yost) Strause wife of Donald Strause and Candy A. (Yost) Lutz both of Hamburg.
There are four grandsons, Kevin Strause, Brian “Chip” Lutz, Nicholas Strause and partner Nicole Bedisky, and David Lutz husband of Holly Lutz.
There are eight great grandchildren.
Edmund is survived by his siblings, Richard A. Yost and wife Charlotte A. Yost and Nancy A. Brickey, wife of David Brickey.
He is predeceased by his brother James R. Yost, Sr. and his wife Darlene Yost.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16th at 8 pm in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville.
A viewing will take place Friday from 6 until 8 pm in the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
