Elizabeth A. LeVan

January 20, 1926 — January 18, 2018

Elizabeth "Betty" (Griesemer) A. LeVan 91 of Amity Place, Douglassville, and formerly of Temple died Thursday, January 18th in the Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Lee M. Le Van, who died January 18, 1996.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Earl S. E. and Kathryn V. (Ammarell) Griesemer.

Surviving are her children; Glenn L. husband of Paula Le Van of Kennewick, WA, Keith L. Le Van partner of Linda Jackson of Alsace Township, and Ellen B. wife of Thomas Knudsen of Reading.

Four grandchildren; Christopher Le Van of Seattle, WA, Laura Le Van of Kennewick, WA, Jennifer Le Van of New Jersey, and Tisha Le Van of Reading. Two Step grandchildren; Scott Knudsen of Boston, MA, and Geoff Knudsen of New York City, NY.

Two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Six nieces and one nephew.

Betty was predeceased by a brother, Harold A. Griesemer

Mrs. LeVan was a member of the former St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Reading where she was very active member of the church quilting group.

Betty was a graduate of the class of 1943 from Reading High School.

Since 1996, she was secretary of the Griesemer Family Reunion Association.

A homemaker most of her lifetime, Betty was employed by the former Community General Hospital for a few months. She then was employed six years as a payroll clerk by the former Busy Bee Hosiery.

Graveside services in Laureldale Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
