Elsie M. Houck (Summerfelt) Ernst

Elsie M. (Summerfelt) Houck Ernst, 95, formerly of Bernville, but most recently residing in Sherman, Texas, died May 30 2018 at the Texona Medical Center, Denison, Texas.

Mrs. Ernst was the wife of Allen D. Ernst. Her first husband, Paul Houck, died May 25, 2000.

Born in Greshville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Augusta (Keonig) Summerfelt.

Surviving is a step-daughter, Elsie Mae Madison, of Pottsboro, Texas. Two grandchildren; Nicole Kalbach, and a deceased grandson, R. Cory Kalbach, who died November 29, 2003. A great granddaughter; Tiffany Laster, and three great great grandchildren; Chase, Colton, and Lexi Laster.

A nephew, now deceased, Robert T. Weitzel, was reared by the family.

Mrs. Ernst was predeceased by three brothers; William, Herbert, and Walter Summerfelt.

Elsie was a member of the Friedan's Lutheran Church, Bernville, before moving to Texas. She had been employed by Post Precision Casting Company for thirteen years.

A memorial service for Elsie will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 10:00 A.M., at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 North Main Street, Bernville. Her granddaughter, Nicole Kalbach, will be the speaker.
Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
