Eugene "Sonny" Edwin Kramer, 55, of Bernville, Pa. passed away late Monday night, January 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his devoted family and friends. Born in West Reading, Sonny was a son of Henry E. Kramer and the late Betty M. (Beidler) Kramer. New Year's Eve marked the twentieth wedding anniversary with his loving wife, Traci L. (Myers) Kramer.
Sonny was a graduate of Tulpehocken High School, class of 1980. He was an excellent mechanic and worked at Jonathan's Service Center for 36-years. He enjoyed restoring old cars and motorcycle trips with his friends Randy and Tommy. Sonny and his brother Jimmy logged 950-miles in a single day on an unforgettable cross-country motorcycle trip.
Sonny enjoyed auctions and antiques. He had a knack for finding usefulness in things that most others would consider junk. With his own two hands and creativity, Sonny restored the old stone mill that his family has called home for the past 12-years. Sonny never sat still, he was always busy with the next project and loved to be outside. He enjoyed being a member of the Northkill Rod & Gun Club in Bernville. Sonny has a special sense of humor and personality that could brighten any room. His daughters were amazed that everywhere they went, someone always knew 'SK'.
In addition to his wife and father, Sonny is survived by his daughter Mary B. Kramer of Bernville; two step-daughters: Erika L. Colonna, wife of Francesco of Bernville and Brooke K. Clemmer wife of Brandon L. of West Reading; and six grandchildren: Giovanni, Nico, and Serafina Colonna and Adrianna, Elijah, and Bryson Clemmer. He is also survived by three siblings: Richard Kramer husband of Sharon of Rehrersburg, Jimmy L. Kramer husband of Kathy of Bernville, and Annamae Kramer wife of Lucas Wicks of Bethel as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mom, Sonny is predeceased by nephew, Brinton Wicks and recently his dear friend, Randy Kissling.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville, Pa. officiated by Sonny's father-in-law, Rev. James D. Myers.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of contributions and flowers, it would be more meaningful to Sonny's family to remember him by doing something intentional that you may have been putting off to create a wonderful and lasting memory then share that event with his family.
