Eugene E. LaFollette

Eugene E. “Gene” LaFollette, 87, of Punta Gorda, Fl, formerly of Bernville, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, in Shorepoint Hospital, Punta Gorda, FL.

Born on December 23, 1936, he was the son of the late Guy E. and Hilda O. (Whitacre) LaFollette. He was the husband of the late Joyce A. LaFollette with whom he shared 33 years of marriage at her time of passing in 2013.

Gene was a 1954 graduate of Penn Bernville High School. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran. Gene co-founded B & G Glass in 1963 and was the co-owner and operator for 36 years until his retirement in 1999.

Gene enjoyed gardening and in his younger years, riding horses and motorcycles and he loved to play pool and poker. He had an active membership at his local VFW and previously was a member of the American Legion and Mt. Pleasant Fire Company.

Gene is survived by his children, E. Curt LaFollette, companion of Lisa Isett, and Lori L. Yeager, wife of Kent Yeager. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tatum Cocco (Vincente), Sydni Yeager, Kait LaFollette, and Heather LaFollette; Great grandchildren, Mavis, Griffin, and Julianna; Siblings, Phyllis I. LaFollette and David LaFollette (Marie).

In addition to his wife, Joyce, and parents, Gene was predeceased by a daughter, Kelli L. Hemmingdinger, and a brother, Guy B. LaFollette.

A Viewing will be held, on Monday, February 5^th, 2024, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville.

The burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shartlesville.
