Evangelina O. Rodriguez, née Ostos, a devoted mother and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at Reading Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing, a testament to the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life.

Born on June 23, 1930, in Villa Lopez, Jimenez Chihuahua, Mexico, Evangelina’s early life was shaped by the rich traditions of her homeland. Raised on a ranch, she developed a lifelong affection for animals—especially her beloved chicken—and a profound appreciation for nature. Her passions included singing in the church choir, sewing, knitting, tending her flower garden, and caring for birds, reflecting both her creative spirit and gentle heart.

Throughout her life, Evangelina devoted herself to her children with unwavering love and dedication. She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her children: Leticia E. Lisa, Irma Sanchez, Jackie Smover (wife of Ted), Oscar Rodriguez (husband of Norma), Evangi Lomas (wife of Freddy), Daniel Rodriguez, Neftali Rodriguez, and Dina Hoimes. Her legacy is also carried on by her many grandchildren—Alexandrea E. Villasenor (wife of Alberto), Colin D. Peters (husband of Melissa), Geoffery M. Peters (husband of Cheyenne), Ashley Peters, Salvatore Lisa, Jr., Philip Lisa, Roberto I. Sanchez, Edgar Sanchez, Lizbeth Sanchez, Jhony Lomas, Freddy Lomas, Anna Sattazahn, Miryiam Alvarez (wife of Antonio), Tania Irazu, Oscar Rodriguez, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, Roberto Sanchez, and Edgar Sanchez—and numerous great-grandchildren, including Molly Peters, Dante Lisa, Penelope Lisa, Ronan Lisa, Evangelina Sanchez, Yadira Sanchez, Luis Foster, Liliana Foster, Jasmin Miramontes, another Evangelina Sanchez, Erick Sanchez, Ethan Alvarez, Lyla Alvarez, and Jay den Elan Alvarez. She is also survived by her brother, Alfredo Ostos.

Evangelina was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Angel and Petra (Chaparro) Ostos, as well as two brothers and one sister, whose memories she held close throughout her life.
