Ezio F. DeSantis, 93, of Blandon, formerly of Topton, passed away Saturday night in Keystone Villa at Fleetwood.
Ezio was married for seventy years to the late Eleanor R. (Frazer) DeSantis.
Born in Temple, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria (Amadio) DeSantis.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Jessica A. (DeSantis) Jung, wife of Herbert “Chip” Jung, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and Jennifer R. DeSantis of Wyomissing.
There are two Grandchildren, Lauren Singh, wife of Atul Singh and Carrie Mahan, wife of Ken Mahan.
Also, there are two Great Grandchildren, Alexander and Daphne Singh.
Ezio is predeceased by his siblings, Joseph DeSantis, Leo DeSantis, Alvia Kramer, and Ida DeSantis.
Ezio graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1948 and Kutztown Teachers College in 1952. He then served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. After serving in the Air Force, Ezio graduated from Temple University with a Masters Degree.
Ezio was a History Teacher at Brandywine Heights High School for many years. He also was the former president of the Brandywine Heights School Board.
Ezio was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Kutztown.
Ezio was involved in the operating of his family-owned F & M Mushroom Company. He was vice president of the former Myers Canning Company, now Giorgio Foods. At Giorgio Foods, Ezio ran the Fresh Pack Division until he retired.
He was a member of the Topton Borough Council, the St. Marco Society in Temple, and the International Association of Lions Club.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., (Hyde Park) Reading, PA on Saturday, April 27th at 10 AM with Reverend Allen J. Hoffa as celebrant.
Family and friends may attend a visitation with the family in the vestibule in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 27th from 9 AM until 10 AM.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital at St Jude.org.
The Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
