Fern L. (Blake) Werley

August 17, 1930 — February 6, 2014

Fern L. (Blake) Werley, 83, of Penn Twp., passed away Thursday, February 6th in the Reading Hospital of natural causes.

She was married to Robert W. Werley, Fern and Robert celebrated sixty five years of marriage.

Born in Reading on August 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles Blake and Cora (Geisinger) Blake.

Fern was the owner and operator, along with her husband Robert, of Werley's Exxon Station in Bern Twp. for many years.

She was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.

She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church. A member of the Senior Berners and the Healthy Steppers.

She volunteered at the Oley Fire Co. and enjoyed traveling, sewing, and gardening.

Additional survivors include her children, Diane L., wife of Daniel E. Levengood of Oley and Lanny R, husband of Sandi of Leesport.

There are five grandchildren, Dawn L., wife of Alan Roman and Dena L., wife of Thomas Kauffman both of Oley, Steven L. Werley, husband of Angie of Hamburg, Heather Werley of Lebanon, and Lauren, wife of Phil Evans of Leesport.

Also, eight great grandchildren.

There is one sister, Joan Hoffman of Reading.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11th at 1 pm in Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, 820 West Leesport Rd., Leesport, PA, 19533 with Rev. David Roper officiating. Interment will follow in Bern Cemetery.
Family and friends may attend a visitation with the family on Tuesday from 11:30am until time of service in the church.

The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address.
