Fred B. Keller

March 4, 1932 — February 12, 2017

Fred B. Keller, 84, of Alsace Twp., devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Sunday, February 12th in Penn State St. Joseph Hospital.

Fred was married to Joyce E. (Reitnauer) Keller. Fred and Joyce were married on February 11, 1955 and celebrated sixty two loving years of marriage.

Born in Alsace Twp., he was the son of the late Elmer Keller and Edna (Barlet) Keller.

Fred was employed many years by Textile Chemical in Reading, now it is Brenntag N. American Inc. In earlier years he was a stone mason.

Fred served in the Army in the Artillery Division during the Korean War.

Fred was a member of Salem Shalters Lutheran Church in Alsace Twp. where he was a former council member and cooked at church dinners. He was the morning greeter and huger at church.

Fred loved maintaining his garden. At the Oley Fair he was the winner for fourteen years of the vegetable trophy.

Additional survivors include three children, Debra A. Meyer and husband Edward of Blandon, Brian G. Keller and wife Shirley of Reading, and Michael F. Keller and wife Angela of Leesport.

There are three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He is survived by sisters, Gloria (Keller) Thomas and husband Neil of Muhlenberg Twp. and Mary (Keller) Adams widow of Ewell of Fleetwood.

He is predeceased by six siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17th at 11 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Rev. Leslie Hand officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Shalters Church, 2032 Mt. Laurel Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522.
