Gary W. Zappacosta, 71, of Temple, passed away Wednesday evening in the Reading Hospital.
Gary was married to the late Rose M. Zappacosta who passed away October 5, 2008.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William and Mildred A. (Adams) Zappacosta.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. After high school Gary was employed as a Heat Treating Technician in the Metallurgy Lab for Carpenter Technology for forty one and a half years retiring in 2012.
Gary was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Temple.
Gary was a Constable for Temple Borough from 1980 until 1995.
Gary was a life member of the Temple Fire Co. He also was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Co., the Historical Society of Berks County, the Reading Company Technical and Historical Society, and the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society.
Gary is survived by a son, Anthony W. Zappacosta of Temple and a grandson, Adam R. Zappacosta.
Gary is predeceased by a grandchild, Andrew J. Zappacosta.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14th at 11 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Rev. Dr. Harry L. Serio officiating.
Viewings will take place on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm and Wednesday morning from 10 am until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service in Maidencreek Cemetery in Blandon.
