Gerald L. Rothermel

Gerald L. Rothermel, 85, passed away on March 30, 2024, in his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

Gerald was the husband of the late Judith A. (Jacobs) Rothermel with whom he shared 41 years of marriage at her time of passing on October 15, 2014.

Born on January 31, 1939, He was a son to the late Oscar C. and Gertrude (Fisher) Rothermel. Gerald led a remarkable life filled with service and commitment. Apart from his successful career, working as a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator for Windsor Service and E.J. Breneman until his retirement in 1999, he also served as the Director, Assistant Fire Chief, Director of the Social Hall, and President of Department 12 at Blandon Fire Company. His passion for helping others led him to become a Volunteer Fireman at the young age of 21 and later an EMT with the Blandon Ambulance Company.
Gerald also proudly served in the United States Army.  In his free time, he was an Avid Hunter, finding solace and joy in nature.

Gerald will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter Michele L. Kline, her fiancé Kevin Simpson, and her son Cory Kline, with whom he resided. Additionally, he leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar C. and Gertrude Rothermel, daughter Tammy L. Lesiey; son Jerry L. Rothermel; siblings Leon Rothermel, Robert Rothermel, Milda Sweitzer, Richard Rothermel; and half-sister Viola Rothenberger.

Services to honor and remember Gerald will take place at Trinity Bible Fellowship Church in Blandon, 220 Main St, Blandon, PA 19510. A Viewing is scheduled on April 6th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow funeral services in Maidencreek Cemetery.
