Gladys J. (Balthaser) Weidman

Gladys J. (Balthaser) Weidman, 85, of Bernville died Saturday afternoon in the Berks Heim.  She was the widow of Robert D. Weidman, who died September 30, 1987.

Gladys was born on June 11, 1933 in Centerport.  She was the daughter of the late John H. and Irene M. (Bagenstose) Balthaser.

Surviving are her children; Rick D. husband of Michele R. Weidman of Bethel Township; Revel D. Weidman wife of Lynn M. Degler of Penn Township; Ryan D. husband of Anna M. Weidman of Bethel; Randy D. husband of Debra E. Weidman of Bernville; and Renee D. wife of William E. Erbe of Lebanon.

Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren

Two sisters; Marilyn J. widow of Harold Burkhart of Bernville; and Evelyn F. widow of Glenn Fox of Penn Township.  A brother J. Paul husband of Carolyn Balthaser of Penn Township.

Gladys is predeceased by two brothers; Kenneth and Kermit Balthaser.

She was a member of Young at Heart of Bernville. Gladys was a graduate in the class of 1951 from the former Penn Bernville High School.  She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

She had been employed twenty-three years last working as a folder for the former Gloria Knitting Mills.  Gladys had also been employed by the former Caron Knitting Mills; Linette’s Candy as a packer; and retired in 2010 as a stocker/cashier from Boyer’s Grocery Store.

Funeral services from the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville on Friday at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Roderick Sutliff officiating.  Interment in Fairview (Belleman’s) of Centre Township.

Family will receive friends on Friday 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
