Gloria Eitnier

Gloria Eitnier, born on February 2, 1930, in Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Reading Hospital on January 22, 2026, just weeks shy of her 96th birthday. She carried the spirit of love and dedication throughout her life, a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

Gloria lived a remarkable life, marked by her unwavering commitment to helping others. For 29 years, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Wernersville State Hospital, where she touched countless lives with her compassionate care and nurturing spirit. Her colleagues and patients alike remember her not only for her skill but for her kindness and understanding, which made a profound impact on those who were fortunate enough to be in her life.

In quieter moments, Gloria found joy in her passions, particularly traveling and spending time at the beach and her camper where she had a seasonal site at Blue Rocks Campground. These adventures brought her fulfillment and happiness, allowing her to embrace the natural beauty of the world around her.

A devoted family member, Gloria is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Tiffani Showalter, niece, Melissa Heller, and nephew, Robert Heller, who will carry on her memory with love and gratitude. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Harold S. Eitnier, who left this world on October 1, 1996. Together, they shared a loving bond that remains an inspiration to all who witnessed their relationship.

Gloria was also preceded by her dear nephew, Roderick Heller, husband of Katy, and siblings Benjamin Federici, Quintille Federici, Giuseppe Federici, and Evelyn Heller. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories will continue to live on through the stories they shared.

A Prayer Service in memory of Gloria will take place on February 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, located on Kutztown Road in St. George, Reading, PA. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a remarkable woman whose light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved.
