Gloria Jean M. Bergey, born July 26, 1941, passed away peacefully in her home on June 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Her life of eighty-four years was marked by a steadfast commitment to family, community, and kindness.
Gloria was a proud graduate of Roxborough High School, and soon after embarked on a career marked by dedication and service through her work with the Muhlenberg School District. She began as the welcoming “Playground Lady” at the elementary school, always looking out for the children in her care. Her journey continued as she transitioned into the role of secretary, and then into the guidance office at the Junior High, where her caring nature and willingness to help were apparent to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Gloria spent time in nearly every building in the district, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and diligence.
Beyond her professional contributions, Gloria was a longtime Girl Scout Leader, guiding not only her own daughters but continuing her leadership and mentorship well after they had moved on. She took great joy in supporting young girls and fostering a spirit of service and friendship in her troop.
