Helen P. Furhman, 78, has peacefully passed away on March 25, 2024, at Reading Hospital.
Born in Minersville on May 3, 1945, she was a daughter to the late John and Sophie (Skawinsky) Polit.
Helen's passion for education led her to graduate from Mahanoy Twp. High School and further earn her Bachelor's in Education from Kutztown University in 1967, followed by her Master's Degree in 1970. Her commitment to shaping young minds touched the lives of many students over the years.
Throughout her life, Helen found joy in the simple things - she adored her family, cherished moments with her grandson Wyatt, and treasured vacations with her daughter Deanna Furhman and son-in-law Robert Burd.
In her leisure time, Helen enjoyed creating lasting memories with her loved ones and exploring new places. She was a kind-hearted individual who always put others first and had a gentle soul that resonated with everyone she met.
Helen is survived by her beloved daughter Deanna Furhman, wife of Robert Burd, and grandson Wyatt Burd. She is now reunited with her late husband Earl W. Furhman, as well as her sister, Mary Leitzel.
