Irene C Blatt

Irene C. Blatt, a dedicated educator and a beloved member of her community, peacefully departed this life on May 24, 2025 at StoneRidge Poplar Run. She was born in 1931 in Exeter Township. She graduated from Penn Township School in 1948 before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown State Teacher's College followed by a Master's in Education from Penn State. She spent thirty-two years teaching fourth and fifth grades in the Muhlenberg School District retiring in 1985.

Irene was the organizer and manager of a host of family events and took an active interest in her extended family, from her contemporaries to the following three generations. She was an active member of Saint Thomas Church in Bernville and a lifetime member of the Bernville Grange, for whom she created many meeting programs and amusements and displays for the Kutztown Folk Festival and various fairs. Her passion for travel led her to adventures all over the U.S. and Europe as well as Austrailia, Asia, and South America.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Paul A. and Ruth A. (Gaul) Blatt. She is survived by her brother, Earl A. Blatt, along with her niece and nephews: Thomas L. Blatt, husband of Carol; Philip A. Blatt, husband of Marcia; Deborah B. Latta, wife of Wayne; and Wayne A. Blatt. She also leaves behind ten great-nieces and nephews and ten great-great-nieces and nephews. She touched countless lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation with family for Irene will be held on May 31, 2025 at Kirkhoff Funeral Home in Bernville, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place afterwards in North Heidelberg Cemetery, Robesonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Thomas Church or Berks Nature.
