John W. Miller, a lifelong resident of Bernville, PA, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on November 7, 1950, he dedicated a remarkable 65 years of his life working on the family farm, a testament to his commitment to family traditions and the land that nurtured him.
John was a proud alumnus of Tulpehocken High School, where he laid the foundations of a work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. Despite the challenges he faced, including a lifelong struggle with schizophrenia, he maintained a spirit of resilience and determination. His family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program at Tower Health, whose support was invaluable to him.
Beyond his work on the farm, John enjoyed the vibrant sounds of polka music, cherished his John Deere equipment, and found joy in attending car shows, where his appreciation for classic automobiles shone through. He was known for his friendly personality and warm smile, which touched the lives of many in his community.
John is survived by his beloved sister, Margaret Hayes. He was preceded in death by his father, John I. Miller; mother, Sallie Miller (Burger); and sister, Mary Elizabeth Moyer. Their memories will continue to be a source of comfort as those who knew John come together to honor his life.
Funeral services will be held at Kirkhoff Funeral Home, located at 206 North Main Street in Bernville, PA. A viewing will take place on August 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00. Burial will take place at St. Micheal's Church Cemetery, located at 529 St. Michaels Road Hamburg, PA 19526.
John W. Miller will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, his love for the land, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
