John R. Reed

John R. Reed, 82, of Bernville, passed away Tuesday, October 1st in the Laurel Center in Hamburg.

He was married to Irene R. (Sonon) Reed.

Born in Jefferson Twp., he was the son of the late George and Mary Reed.

He was employed by Hoffman Industries for many years.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Additional survivors include his children, Jacel S., wife of Terry L. Bashore and Kevin S. Reed both of Shartlesville and Terry S. Reed of Bernville.
He was predeceased by a son, Steven S. Reed who passed away February 6, 2012.
There are six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Also, there are two brothers, Cletes W. Reed of Reinholds and Stanley Reed of Bernville.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville is assisting the Reed family with funeral arrangements.
