John "Butch" Tolland

John J. "Butch" Tolland, Sr. 73 of Muhlenberg Township died Wednesday morning at 4:17 A.M. in his residence.
John was the husband of Florence M. (Templin) Tolland. They had been married for thirty-nine years.
Mr. Tolland was born in Reading on August 14,1939. He was the son of the late John F. and Fern (Laconsinsh) Tolland.
In addition to his wife he is survived by the following children; Roseann Williams of Fayetteville, NC; Donald Showers of Florence, SC; John J. Tolland, Jr. of Gibraltar; Stacy Millisock of Mohnton; Joann Haas of Bernville; and John Showers of Reading. He was predeceased by Norman Showers and Susan Tolland.
John had fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren
He is, also, survived by the following brothers and sisters: Arthur Tolland of Reading; Richard Tolland of Millsboro, DE; Noreen Tolland of Pittsburgh; Patricia Rippeon of Bowie, MD; and Virginia Sands of Leesport. A brother, Ronald Tolland, predeceased him.
John retired in 2010 last working ten years as a sweeper truck driver for Industrial Grounds Maintenance. Prior to that employment he had worked twenty-three years as a machinist for the former Dana Corporation.
Mr. Tolland's funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple with Reverend Grant Wickert officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Gibraltar. The family will receive friends on Friday 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
