Johnnie R. Wyatt, Sr., passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at Reading Hospital. Born on October 21, 1944, Johnnie lived a full life marked by hard work, quiet perseverance, and a deep love for those around him. He departed this life surrounded by his loving family, a testament to the strong bonds he nurtured through the years.

Johnnie’s career as a night watchman at the GST AutoLeather spanned many faithful years, during which he was known for his reliability and steadfast commitment. Outside of work, he found joy and purpose in many pursuits. An avid reader, he embraced lifelong learning and reflection. Johnnie kept himself busy with activities that brought him peace and satisfaction, particularly tending to his flower and vegetable garden. His enthusiasm for antique cars was well known; he dedicated countless hours working on them, appreciating both their beauty and history. Above all, Johnnie cherished his family deeply, making their happiness and well-being the cornerstone of his life.

Johnnie is survived by his children: Johnny R. Wyatt, Jr., Mike B. Wyatt, husband of Sheila, Jody K. Wyatt, husband of Jennifer, Teresa M. Bernstein, companion of Kevin Cooney, Travis C. Bernstein, husband of Sarah, and Desire'e A. Bernstein. He was a proud grandfather to Dani, Kenzie, Bree, Alyssa, Kelsey, Sarah, Rachel, Oliver, and Nova. His great-grandchildren, Jax, Alex, Bob, Andre, Roman, and Hadley, brought him immense joy in his later years. Johnnie is also survived by his sister, Ruth Eager, who shared many years of life’s journey with him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Bernstein, whose memory he held dear. Johnnie was also predeceased by his parents, Hubert C. and Vennie L. (Ledford) Wyatt, and his siblings Sanford, Edna, Marie, Clara, Charles, and Robert.

Funeral Services will be held privately.

Johnnie R. Wyatt, Sr.’s life was defined by his steadfast dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and his love for the simple pleasures that enriched his days. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy lives on through the generations he so lovingly raised and nurtured. He leaves behind a family bound by love and respect, a fitting tribute to a life well lived.
