Jonathan M. "Jonny" Velez

Jonathan M. "Jonny" Velez, 21, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away June 1, 2013, while fishing on the Susquehanna River near Peach Bottom.

Born in St. Joseph Medical Center on October 7, 1991, he was the son of Edward Velez-Caraballo and Michelle A. (Yelk) Velez of Muhlenberg Twp.
Jonny graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 2011.

Jonny loved being with his friends, fishing, basketball, X Box Gamer, and motorcycles.

Additional survivors include his brothers, Joshua A. and Edwin J. Velez both of Muhlenberg Twp.
A very close nephew, Damian A. Velez of Muhlenberg Twp.
Maternal grandparents, Richard Yelk and Nancy of Douglassville and Cheryl A., widow of Kenneth Pellicciotti of Reading.
Paternal grandparents, Milagros Caraballo-Velez of Reading and Samuel Velez-Velaques of Puerto Rico.

There are several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many loving friends who will deeply miss Jonny.

A joint memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Avenue Laureldale with Rev. Jerry Kulp officiating. The family requests casual attire.
Interment will be private for Jonny.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time in the church.
