Joyce A. LaFollette
October 30, 1945 — June 5, 2013
Joyce A. LaFollette, 67, of Penn Twp., passed away Wednesday June 5th in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center of natural causes.
She was the wife of Eugene E. "Gene" LaFollette.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John H. Epler and Helen K. (Shaw) Epler.
She was office manager for B & G Glass in Reading for seventeen years, retiring in 1999. In earlier years she was employed by Travelers Insurance in Wyomissing and Performance Motors in West Lawn both for many years.
Joyce and Gene were best friends and together for over thirty three years.
They both retired in 1999 and traveled in their RV and motorcycle throughout the United States including Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
They enjoyed fishing and boating together and had a winter residence in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and playing cards.
Additional survivors include, one son, Larry L. Brendle, Jr., husband of Beth of Bernville. One step son, Curt LaFollette, husband of Debbie of Womelsdorf, and two step daughters, Lori Yeager, wife of Kent of Bernville and Kelli LaFollette, wife of John Hemmendinger of Nederland, Colorado.
There are eight grandchildren, Danyell and Angela Brendle, Alyssa and Brandon Kercher, Tatum Cocco, Sydni Yeager, and Heather and Kaitlin LaFollette.
Also, three great grandchildren, Kallia Brendle, Isabella Soto-Brendle, and Mavis Cocco.
She was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Burgandy.
Funeral services will be Monday June 10th at 12:30 PM in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. Jerry Kulp officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery in Tilden Twp. Family and friends may call Monday from 11 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
