Joyce E. (Marmontello) Swavely

Joyce E. Swavely, 77, of Reading, passed away at Reading Hospital on Tuesday, October 30. She was the widow of Rodney L. Swavely who passed in 2011.

Born on August 24, 1941, Joyce was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Dora (Hevyard) Marmontello.

A quiet woman who enjoyed time with her family, Joyce was fond of spaghetti dinners at the Olive Garden and time spent with her beloved dogs. She will be remembered for her collection of poems and verses.

Joyce is survived by her children, Robert L. Orischak, husband of Rebecca, of Reading, and Debra J. (Orischak) DeTurck, wife of Michael, of Reading.

She is also survived by one grandson, Mason Orischak.

Other survivors include Joyce’s brothers, Charles Marmontello of Lewes, DE, and James Marmontello of Reading; her dogs, Nikki and Chase.

Joyce is predeceased by her brother Michael Marmontello and her dog Tiffy.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call;

I turned my back and left it all.
