Judith Ann Lando, born on November 11, 1938, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. Her life was marked by dedicated service to her community and an unwavering commitment to the organizations and causes she held dear.
Judith built a respected career working for Upper Tulpehocken Township, where she served with distinction as the secretary. Her professionalism and dedication made a lasting impact on the township and the many lives she touched through her work.
Beyond her professional life, Judith was deeply involved in numerous community organizations. She was a member of Zion Blue Mountain UCC and actively participated in the Women’s Club of Strausstown. She also found camaraderie and purpose in the Women of the Moose, Chapter 786, and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW. Her commitment extended to local fire companies, including those in Strausstown, Bethel, Shartlesville, and Rehrersburg. Additionally, she contributed her time and spirit to the Andulhea Heritage Center. Judith’s family was a source of great joy and pride.
She is survived by her children, Sherwood and companion Charlene, Sinking Spring, Jane and companion Don, Malvern, Iowa, and Lisa and her husband Jeffrey Long, Lebanon. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Rebecca Miller, Heather Bucher, and Daniel Anderson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Andrew Sechrist and Addilyn Bucher. She also leaves behind her brother, John O. Strauss, who shares in the grief of this profound loss.Her husband of 62 years, William Lando, preceded her in death, as did her sisters, Helen G. Koch and Kathleen M. Keller. Judith was also preceded by her beloved parents, Oscar E. and Mary Jane (Napp) Strauss.
A visitation to honor and remember Judith will take place on June 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, located at 206 North Main Street in Bernville, Pennsylvania. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service from 11:00 AM at the same location.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Judith’s name may be made to Narcolepsy Network, 129 Waterwheel Lane, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
Judith’s life was one of service, dedication, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her loss is deeply felt, but so too is the enduring imprint she has left on her family, friends, and community.
