Judy Ann Allen

It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy Ann (Greth) Allen. Judy was born on May 17th, 1950 in Reading, Pennsylvania and died of natural causes on August 20th, 2026 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She touched and inspired many lives with her humor, her wisdom and her perseverance against lifelong physical challenges.

She was the second of seven children, nicknamed "Judybug" and "Bug" and from a young age she was inspired to explore the world around her. Her travel to New York City in high school was the early beginning of a remarkable journey which saw her explore twenty of the fifty United States and two countries without ever having flown in an airplane. Her lifelong hobbies included travel, collecting, bingo, listening to music (including her favorite band The Beatles), card games, reading, writing and watching movies (and quoting them.) She had a brilliant memory for names, numbers, places and events and often amazed her friends with her retained knowledge even decades later. Her humor and jokes were legendary among her family and friends and she had a remarkable ability to predict sporting events including those with her favorite Phillies and Eagles.

She worked the majority of her professional career in bookkeeping, starting as a billing clerk for Hall's Motor Transit Company, working at fashion brand Letisse, Inc. and finishing her career in accounting at Gabel Enterprises, Inc. Among the many milestones of her life, she met her future husband Stephen M. Allen in 1970, married him in 1974 and brought her son into the world in 1978. After her husband's unexpected passing in 1991, Judy raised her son as a single mother, later moving across the country to California in 2020 to be closer to him and was blessed with a grandson in 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore J. Greth, Sr. and Helen G. (Check) Greth and her brothers Edwin E. "Smokey" Greth, Ted “Rocky” Greth Jr., William Greth and Jeffrey Greth. She is survived by her only child, Jason M. Allen, his wife Kristin and grandson Chase, and in all of whom she had much pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister Carol Greth and brother Michael Greth. We share our profound sense of loss and heartfelt sympathies with our extended families, Judy's lifelong friends and all who mourn her passing. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service celebrating Judy's life and legacy will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, starting with a viewing from 10:00 AM -11:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple.  We invite all who knew and loved Judy to join us in honoring her memory.
