June R. (Rhine) Delp

October 22, 1921 — March 29, 2014

June R. Delp, 92, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away Saturday, March 29th in her home.

She was the widow of William E. Delp who passed away July 6, 2006.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Irene M. (Davis) Rhine.

June graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1939. She was employed as a final inspector for the former Western Electric/Lucent for 27 years, retiring in 1985, and was a member of the Western Electric Telecom Pioneers.

She had also been a member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church.

June was an avid bingo player, Philadelphia Phillies fan, and enjoyed family card games. She also loved her dachshund, Brownie.

Surviving is her son, Richard R. Delp, husband of Sharon, of Lower Alsace Twp.

There are two grandchildren: Michael J. Delp and Michelle Marrero; four great-grandchildren: Justin, Samantha, Bianca, and Victor, Jr.; and a great-great-granddaughter, Izbella Faith.

Also surviving is a sister, Doris R., widow of Lee J. Fetterman, of Fleetwood.

June was predeceased by her grandson, Chris, who passed away in 2006; and her sister, Ardell E., widow of John Bucks, who passed away in 2005.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 2nd at 11 a.m. at the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, PA with Rev. Merrill R. Marisseau officiating. Interment will follow in Spies-Zion Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in June's memory be made to the Easter Seals of Eastern PA, 1040 Liggett Ave., Reading, PA 19607, for the rebuilding of Camp Lily.
